    Gibson ES-335TD 1967

Designed by Gibson President Ted McCarty and released in 1958, this example shows plenty of minor scratches, dings and dents, buckle rash and tarnish, but this is just normal playing wear accumulated during the fifty-four year journey of an unputdownable guitar. Inside the body, the 1960s Orange Label is simply marked "Freddy" so we assume this was likely assembled for a Gibson employee. If so, it could partially explain why this charismatic and beautifully balanced instrument feels so good and sounds so amazing in any setting.

Gibson Les Paul Deluxe Goldtop 1979

The Les Paul Deluxe was introduced in 1969 and ran continuously until 1985. Less common than the ubiquitous Standard, the Deluxe flew under the radar with its mini humbuckers and three piece maple neck. Previously owned by a touring musician, this otherwise original instrument was road proofed with a metal jack plate, and a very slight relocation of the strap button.

The two piece body features distinctive and cool oxidization where earlier in the guitar's life, the timber shrank slightly along the join, and copper powder in the gold paint was exposed to the atmosphere. This great playing '70s Goldtop is an absolute rock'n'roll tone monster, and a guitar to keep.
